Another International FAM trip to Malta - March edition!

At the beginning of March, IELS had the pleasure of hosting 25 agents from all corners of the world – Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Germany, France, Russia, Italy, Czech Republic to name but a few. For most of the agents, it was the first time they visited our little rocky island, and we can happily boast that they left it with a very good impression and wonderful memories.

The first day of this FAM trip was dedicated to the island of Malta, where IELS’ main school, the Young Learners school and most accommodation options are located. We started our tour with a visit to our Sliema school and a presentation of what IELS has to offer. This was followed by a visit to our newly refurbished Day’s Inn residence and continued with a show-around of the IELS school for Young Learners as well as one of the most popular accommodation options for teenagers – the IELS Centre Residence.

After a busy morning, we spent the afternoon visiting Malta’s medieval capital, Mdina as well as our capital city, Valletta , Both capitals are rich in architectural and historic buildings and plenty of unique and quaint little souvenir shops. Thankfully, after catching a bit of rain in Mdina, the clouds soon cleared up and we managed to enjoy some Maltese sunshine, our constant friend that shines over 300 days a year :)

The second day was dedicated to Malta’s sister island Gozo. Here,, IELS has a boutique school for students preferring a more relaxed and laid-back environment. We met our lovely host Josephine who eagerly showed us around the school and the Migiarro residence, both conveniently located in the same building at the centre of the Ghanjsielem, a town just above the Mgarr harbour. After that, we visited one of the most famous Gozo attractions - The Azure window, and enjoyed a traditional lunch in one of the sea-side restaurants in Marsalforn, a town by the sea in the northern part of the island.

Soon it was time to return to Malta and have some free time for shopping before a farewell dinner at the Chophouse Restaurant. The restaurant was just a five-minute walk away from the Rocca Nettuno hotel where the group was staying and we enjoyed an amazing meal, with fantastic views of Valletta.

The following day most of the participants had to fly home, while a couple of lucky ones had booked extra days to explore Malta at their own pace and leisure.

We would like to thank, once again, all the participants, as well as our LAL colleagues Vanessa and Ben, who were with us during these two unforgettable days. We hope you enjoyed all your time with us and we look forward to meeting you again very soon.
