The Classic Wine Festival

The Delicata Classic Wine Festival is back for its 16th year! The Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta will be hosting the event between 10-13 August. Entrance is free but if you want to sample the wine, a wristband and your souvenir glass will cost just €12.00. You can try as many of the wines on offer as you like, as often as you like. The last glasses will be sold at 11.00pm, last glass of wine poured at 11.30pm and the festival closes at midnight.

AWARD-WINNING WINES

A wide choice of Delicata wines will be available for tasting, ranging from the Gellewza Rose Frizzato to the Medina Vermentino Zibibbo. Besides the sweeter lifestyle Dolcino & exclusive Maltese Falcon wines, you can try the popular lush Casella Moscato & other varieties of the Classic Collection, as well as all three of the Pjazza Reġina wines crafted in tribute to Valletta, European Capital of Culture 2018 which will be on show.

ENJOY DIFFERENT CUISINES

The food items on sale will consist of Maltese dishes such as suckling pig, Maltese fried rabbit, pasta dishes, pizza, paella and a selection of individual pastries. There will also be a selection of sushi platters, dim sum platters and Thai noodle dishes, together with a range of Indian starters and dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Beef Madras and Chicken Korma.

MUSIC TO YOUR EARS

Presenter Mireille Bonello will introduce the live entertainment. Every evening has at least two acts, kicking off with an opening-night concert on Thursday by WaterWings & Red Electrick. The Busker & the Spiteri Lucas Band perform on Friday, Planet Seed and The Crowns play on Saturday with Cash & Band and The Travellers bringing the greatest wine event of the year to a close on Sunday.
