Carnival week at IELS!

February brings along the festive spirit and exuberant colours of the long-awaited carnival week (13.02 – 17.02.2015), a festivity loved and celebrated by both children and adults alike.

The Celebration takes on a traditional pattern; extravagantly coloured floats hover on lorries ready for the procession, children running around in excitement, dancers and performers in fancy costumes and Malta’s main nightlife centre, Paceville, catching the late night carnival goers who pile into clubs and bars, wearing outrageous outfits.

The heart of the action takes place in Valletta (Malta) and Nadur (Gozo), where carnival takes on a more macabre and funny mood.

Malta Carnival

This year IELS is participating in a special CARNIVAL themed Gozo Boat Party on Saturday 14th February, leaving Sliema at 21:00 and arriving in Gozo around 23:00. The Party revellers will go to the village of Nadur to join the Gozo Carnival. At 4:00 the boat departs Gozo back to Sliema with a view of the Sunrise.

IELS Boat Party

On Tuesday, IELS students will go on a trip to Valletta to visit the final day of the Valletta Carnival and join a Great Party in the capital city of Malta.

The IELS Team is thrilled and looking forward to  these amazing activities with our students! :)
